When the cow turned around, our view of it made it clear it was a
bull. I don't find it curious at all that it was wearing a cow bell,
since one of Mikhail's other cows, also red, was wearing a cow bell
when Sayid saw it in the jungle outside Flame Station. While a couple
of Mikhail's cattle were in the pen next to the station when it
exploded, and were probably killed, the ones who were free ranging
(and thus had cow bells) obviously escaped. That was one of Mikhail's
cattle, if not the same red one that Sayid saw in the jungle.
