Three of these people are scientists (or parascientists, in the case of
Miles). Obviously they serve little military purpose, so there must be an
alternative purpose for sending them to the Island.
It feels to me that their purpose must be similar to the Dharma Initiative
-
to investigate the mysteries of the Island. I don't think their purpose is
to
kill Ben. The scientists even have a sort of idealism to them that is
reminiscent of the Dharma initiative - Dan and Charlotte don't want to
leave
the Island.
As for Frank, he reminds me a bit of Kelvin. I can't say exactly why, but
he
does. Seems like the perfect kinda of guy to stick in a bunker and make
push
a button.
I wonder if we're seeing a cycle repeat here. Whatever group has succeeded
Dharma is now attempting to fulfill the same mission.
