No. He indicated before she shot him (Sayid), she needed to get out of
town, to dissappear, because there would shortly be an investigation, and
he (Sayid) didn't want Elsa to be around when it happened.
Sayid: Elsa, You have to leave Berlin.
Elsa: What?
Sayid: You can't be here anymore.
Elsa: What do you mean?
Sayid: People will be asking questions soon, about what happened to your
employer. And you can't be around to answer them.
Though it sounds as if Sayid is speaking of the assassination in the past
tense, he is not. He is telling Elsa why she must leave NOW, and why, in
the past tense...If that makes sense :)
