Yes, the current so-called hour long shows run 42 1/2 minutes on
average.  Compared to the shows of the 1950s which ran 52 1/2 minutes on
average.  Some past episodes of 'Lost' have run longer than the 42 1/2
minutes.  The reason I know this is I record the episodes on DVD disk
and then edit out the commercial breaks.
