Why was Ethan, a trained surgeon, working on plumbing?
Do you think Ben sent him on a plumbing mission, in the hopes that he
would accidentally get killed by a pipe wrench? <wink>
For both questions:
Small community of people, many had multiple roles or job functions to
fill. Too many jobs, not enough people.
