During Kate's trial, (according to the transcript on lostpedia.com)
Jack says:
JACK: Only eight of us survived the crash. We landed in the water. I
was hurt, pretty badly. In fact, if it weren't for her, I would have
never made it to the shore. She took care of me. She took care of all
of us. She--she gave us first aid, water, found food, made shelter.
She tried to save the other two, but they didn't--
It seems like Jack is saying that eight people who got on the plane
survived the crash, then two of them died, leaving six people (who
presumably are the "Oceanic 6).
Without this statement, I could see Aaron being one of the Oceanic 6.
But I don't see how Aaron could be said to "survive the crash". Unless
in his story Claire gives birth immediately after the crash.
