Not a direct answer to your question, but yet another question.
The purchase order Tom showed Micheal in New York plainly showed Widmore
Industries on the paperwork.
Widmore is smart and savy enough to at least avoid any direct ties back to
himself if and when the fake wreckage was investigated.

Widmore would have set up (if he didnt already have) a front company to
pass the billing through to prevent any direct connection to his firm.
Plus the 450,000 payment for the scraped 777 would show up on Widmore's
accounting books.
Again, Widmore can't be this stupid. So either the invoice was fake or
there is another twist to this story besides the two cover up stories we
have seen implied.
1) Ben and crew did it
2) Widmore did it
