How many people would it take to fake a plane crash?

I've been thinking it would take a huge conspiracy to fake a plane
crash, but now I'm trying to figure out just how many it would take.

Just to try to think this through, I'm picturing an "Inner Circle,"
who know exactly what the conspiracy is, and an "Outer Circle" that
has no idea.

So, the people who dig up a few hundred corpses and deliver them to a
truck have no idea.

The people involved in fueling and preparing a passenger jet somewhere
have no idea.  

The people who carefully load 300 bodies into the passenger seats
clearly have an idea.  For the moment, I'll assume that could be done
in the middle of the night by the same two guys that will fly the
plane later.

One or two guys pilot the plane later.  We'll assume that the crew
watching the takeoff still have no idea that there are dead bodies
behind all those closed windows.

The guys aim the plane at the ocean and eject, ideally with some kind
of raft.  When the plane is safely out of site, they phone a ****p (or
helicopter) to come pick them up.  The guys on the ****p have no idea
about the conspiracy.

So far (and I'll admit, I don't know much about airplanes), I've kept
the Inner Circle down to two guys.

Did the jet have some unique identifying number and stuff painted on
its exterior?  If so, that would have to be the Inner Circle
conspirators -- and with a special, unique skill, so it couldn't just
be the pilots doing double duty.

And, actually, if the exterior of the plane is clearly marked, then
whoever actually watches it take off might have to be Inner Circle.
But it's simpler to think that the takeoff is done at night, or that
the markings aren't that obvious, or that they pull some kind of
Banacek-style magic trick where the plane takes off and then giant
decals are removed to reveal the fake Oceanic patterns underneath.


I think that someone else has said that there are so few of these jets
(777's?) in the world that you can't just buy one and make it vanish
without someone noticing.  If so, then that's a flaw in the show
regardless of how many or how few conspirators it would take.


Can someone who knows a bit more about jets and third world air****ts
and stuff tell me if I'm missing anyone as I mentally calculate an
Inner Circle that might only have 2 or 3 guys?
