How exactly does an island plan things? Do you think the island is
actually 
a giant tortoise? ;-) Seriously, I'm seeing a lot of people writing things

along these lines. Since TPTB have stated that everything in Lost can be 
explained by science or pseudo science that would presumably rule out a 
sentient island that can plan and influence events in a seemingly
omniscient 
manner.
