Take potshots at this theory

Ben is a kid playing a video game.  He is the omnipotent character.  

There are things he can control in the game, like setting (island),
game characters (the list), food drops (rewards for reaching certain
game levels), character jea****dy (Michael shoots Ana Lucia, Charlie
dying, Sayid working as his agent, etc.).  There are some things he
can't control -- possibly the actions of other players (a kid named
Widmore and another one named Paik).

Random things happen to threaten his position in the game.  Karl's
association with Alex might have some ramifications we don't yet know
about or can't guess.

Is this scenario just another ZORK?
