Well, either that or because the show wants to put the cause & effect
relation****p into our minds.  If we get a bit skeptical, here's what
we saw:

1. Some hard***** were practicing shooting.
2. Our characters got shot at.
3. We didn't see who actually did the shooting.

I think that you (along with me and probably most viewers) saw 1 and 2
and said, "Yep!  The boat people shot Karl and Danielle!"

But that's the stuff that plot twists are made of, eh?

I'm still waiting to find out if it was actually *Ethan* that hung
Charlie from that tree!
