I am rewatching the 1st season disk 1 on DVD - and I don't know if this
has been mentioned. When you change the DVD menu from the "main menu"
and select "episodes"- there are some creepy music notes played. Is it
my imagination but - isn't that the weird music from "THE CAGE"? Its
the weird music that accompanies the "aliens" from Talos IV when they
imprison Captain Pike. (Its only when you go from main menu to the
episode menu.)
These aliens (in case you are not familiar with it) imprison Pike (this
is pre-Kirk)and create an artificial reality and life for him through
total mind control. This fake "life" is a total virtual reality
environment, filled with other people, animals, memories, emotions and
even real pain. Their mind control is so powerful, that they can even
take disfigured and disabled people (even a paralyzed Pike)and restore
his walking abilities (within this virtual reality) ----- remind you of
Locke?
Then I remembered - the 1st season has many Star Trek references. "Red
****rts" and "Sulu" are mentioned and come to mind. And now the
matching Talos IV "notes" on the 1st DVD. Is this a virtual reality
controlled by some aliens perhaps? Maybe to learn about earthings?
This could be why no babies can be conceived and born on the island -
how can a real baby be born from a virtual reality conception? Only
babies conceived pre-arrival can be born- cause they were really
conceived.
Anyone else see the connection?
