I've had to admittedly skim some things as I was playing catchup here,
but I don't think I've seen any discussion here of Ray's facial wound.
I saw it correctly pointed out elsewhere that the wound on his left
cheek seemed to be healing up and suture-free in an earlier episode,
whereas when he washed up on Craphole's shores, the wound was worse and
there were sutures present.
What does this suggest?
For starters, it obviously suggests that some sort of time displacement
has taken place, either to Ray individually or in some way related to
the freighter (relative to the island) as a whole. And if Ray has
somehow gone backwards in time and died, how did "Future Ray" (the Ray
with the healing wound that we saw in earlier eps) manage to survive and
reach that point of healing?
If this is an example of course-correcting, what or who is being
corrected? Was the earlier Ray the "wrong" one and the one washed up on
the beach the "right" one, or is it the other way around? Will
something have to happen to *this* Ray to ensure that "Future Ray" is
around to meet Desmond and Sayid when they arrive at the freighter for
the first time?
