I'm betting Horace really is dead, and that he's an apparition, same
as Charlie when he talks to Hurley.
I agree, however; I thought the purge was more than 12 years ago. I
thought at the time of the purge, Ben was supposed to have been around
20 years old. I don't remember where I got that impression, however.
