I've been trying to wrap my mind around the situation with Aaron. It's
obviously an important aspect of the plot, though the storyline has
been in hibernation for awhile. Charlie's message to Hurley brings
back the importance of Aaron and Claire being together, but
someone/something obviously wanted them apart . . .
Here are the major questions:
For whom is it a bad thing if Aaron is raised by someone other than
Claire? Was the psychic tuned into the power of the island, i.e. it's
bad for the *island* if Aaron is raised by someone else? Or is it a
bigger deal for humanity as a whole?
It seems odd that the psychic would be on Ben's side, since Ben hasn't
shown much concern for keeping Claire *alive*, let alone in charge of
Aaron. But he's hardly treated Aaron as some sort of evil savior.
Still, *someone* wants him raised by another. Who/what? So far, we've
only seen island hallucinations trying to get Aaron and Claire apart,
so does the island want Aaron raised by another? Is the island evil?
Fianlly, why is Charlie's ghost echoing the sentiments of the psychic?
I figured the apparition of Charlie came from the same place as Kate's
horse or the visions of Christian. So why would one vision take Aaron
from Claire, then another warn Jack not to raise him? Are two
competing powers able to manifest visions at will?
I know Lost and I certainly don't expect the story to make sense until
TPTB decide it should, but I'm wondering if I'm forgetting anything
that might fill in some pieces to the puzzle . . .
