Actually we can just go ahead and figure that that's what the note
said.
That would "prove" that Hurley didn't make that statement up AFTER
Jack told him about he and Kate shacking up together. The fact that it
was written down would indicate that Hurley just might have seen
Charlie. That's why Jack was waiting outside the bench area... to see
if Charlie would show up.. he was expecting a visit from the "Ghost of
Christmas Past" and instead got "Marley" again. Slightly unexpected...
