Actually, these actions fit well with what we were told in this
episode. Hurley suggests that Jack's "perfect world" might need to be
looked at a little closer. I took from that that Jack had imagined
his life with Kate being so positive. If you'll notice how once the
idea that life might not really be so positive, Kate behaves
suspiciously, Jack becomes a bit paranoid, and things seem to spiral
downhill from there.
