In another episode, Malkin admitted he was just a fake.
So what he was telling Claire, he didn't even believe himself. This
story was just an astoni****ngly good guess on his part.
So it wouldn't have taken very much to get him to change his story to
Claire. To him, it was all an act anyway.
It would be funny to see the Ghost of Christian Shepherd just offer
Malkin a cash bribe. I wonder if Ben has a Swiss bank account and
Smokey/Jacob/Christian has an ATM card for it. :-)
