If that were a mistake, would they have made a point in the dialog
about Juliet's shaving such a large area?  Jack asked why shave up
there, when the incision should be down there?  And then do you think
they showed him dressing just as eye candy for the ladies?

Between this and the business about the other doctor's neck scar, I
think they're telling us that things aren't happening in the order we
think.  These characters may be going back & forth, acting out island
scenes on their vacations.
