Look, I don't know Damon and I don't pretend to know what his
emotional issues are, but reading the last part of that essay gave me
the idea that he never felt like his father approved of him.  If that
is true, it would explain where Jack's backstory came from.

The "none of your business" phrase was Damon's way of dropping the
topic as soon as he brought it up.

Anyway, read the essay and see if you agree.  I figure in a father-son
relation****p, as in any close relation****p, there are things going on
that people outside of it don't know about.
