Neither of them reacted that way around me or any of his father's
other friends.  His father got us to see the plays he was in in HS,
showed us home movies of him as a baby, showed at least me his
animation (a music video of "Triangle Man"), talked about how previous
negotiations by the writers' union affected him, etc.  The only
immediate family member Dave had anything bad to say about was his ex-
wife, and that was understandable or they wouldn't've divorced, but
even they stayed friends.

I OTOH complained to them plenty about my father.
