No, but I always wondered why men's bikes were constructed with that
high horizontal bar in front of the seat (an "Ouch!" waiting to
happen?), while women's bikes had a bar that curved downward and out
of the way.

According to Wikipedia, the woman's design allowed "the rider to mount
and dismount in a dignified way while wearing a skirt or dress," but
"at the expense of compromised structural integrity."  It figures.
