> 1. Magazine

Comic book, an imaginary world where anything is possible, like walking
normal after a cru****ng spinal injury.
The sort of thing you would choose if you wanted to make an different
reality for your self.

> 2. Compass

A device to help you find your way, metaphorically speaking, while on a
walk-a-bout.
Something you would choose if you were, well . . . LOST.

> 3. Glass vial of sand (?)

Your beach, a place to relax and enjoy life. It could also be thought as
ground or earth, a place for a sturdy foundation for your life.
Something you would choose if you didn't think you had all the basic
building blocks in place for your life to move forward. Kind of like
trying
to find a parent and that all im****tant fatherly love and acceptance.

> 4. Book of Laws (I think it said law)

A guide book letting you know that there are rules and what those rules
are
that you must follow in order to survive; a survival guide.
Something you would choose if you needed order in your life.

> 5. Baseball Glove

Simple times when all you had to worry about was having fun and enjoying
what life had to offer.
Something you would choose if you felt overwhelmed by the world and wanted

to go to a place where life was simple and peaceful.

6) knife

The razors edge, for good or evil. It can be used for survival if needed
or
to kill for un-pure reasons.
Something you would choose if you had enough beatings and felt it was time

for fighting back - revenge.

I think that each one was his and each one was not.
Should we assume that the test was for the present Locke or the child
Locke?
Or, was it a test to see which path Locke wanted/would to take in the
future?
