It is possible that their is not a time difference per se (ie a fixed
time difference between two places), but that the barrier around the
island screws up the passage of time for things that cross it - the
Doctors body travelled back in time, the rocket travelled forward in
time, humans get their own timeline whacked up - ie Desmond.
