I didn't see it, but wasn't there a scene where a second rabbit
appeared, and the people were terrified about them coming together?
Because it was the same rabbit?
Is there another island, or is this island, a duplicate of the other,
original island, but detached in time? Is Jacob terrified that the
two islands will come together, because nature will try to correct
this anomaly? So the mission is to keep the two islands apart,
because something really, really bad happens when they come together?
