There's no reason to believe that they share the same mother, beyond
the name. And again, I would be disappointed if the writers led us to
believe that Ben's mom died in childbirth, only to admit the next
season that they basically lied about it. That's a dangerous path,
and if they lose their credibility, they lose their audience. And I
have to assume that they're smart enough to know that.
