I said that *this* flashback was boring, just as I've found a few other 
flashbacks somewhat boring. I think the track records for the flash
forwards 
have been much better, with the only one that wasn't particularly
compelling 
being Jack's FF last week. At this point we know the characters well
enough 
that flashbacks mostly serve to fill in some gaps whereas the flash
forwards 
tell whole new stories and show completely different sides of these
people. 
So if the writers decide to return to flashbacks on occasion, I think they

need to ensure the entertainment value is comparable to the flash
forwards.
