Isn't that what religious leaders do? They're messengers, or
manifestations, or prophets, of God.
Richard seemed to want young Locke to select the Book of Laws instead
of the knife. There is a Book of Laws in the Bah'ai faith.
"Bah'ai believe that God is so beyond the limits of human
understanding that he is ultimately unknowable.
To overcome this obstacle, God has made his nature and will known to
humanity through means of a series of Messengers or Manifestations.
Each of these Messengers =96 which include Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster,
Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad =96 has founded a great religion.
These Manifestations of God each revealed the attributes and will of
God that was appropriate to the time. "
