(To be clear, I'm not endorsing any of these "messengers," or the
entity they supposedly represent.  I'm just saying that the concept of
such intermediaries for a greater power is accepted by billions of
people, and may be part of the "Lost" storyline, if indeed the island
is supposed to be "God.")
