Early last year during a Micheal Emerson interview, 'Flash Forwards' were
brought up, but went nearly unnoticed by the Lost community, until the
season 3 finale, where it was confirmed that the Lost mosaic was being
assembled from pieces from the past, present and future.

Flashbacks (past) and flashforwards (future) are accepted now and
understood by the fans.
A new concept was introduced earlier this month by Carlton Cuse during a
G4 interview; Flash sideways.
Like the earlier 'flashforward' reference, for some reason, it too is
being ignored by the Lost fan community.
Flash sideways. Will it become the new Lost buzz word? What is a flash
sideways, anyway?
The freighter doctor, Doc Ray. How did he wash ashore with a slit throat
before he was killed on the freighter?
What do flash sideways mean for the island losties?
Do flash sideways have any meaning for the corpses discovered in the
Sundra trench?
Off island and when the Oceanic 6 get settled in back home, would Jack
ever go to work for Charles Widmore, as his personal physician?
