LOL, now that you mention it, a lot of King's cast die.

Also a missing member gets an itch, and when it does the sunsets drawn are
 
all blood red with a ghost ****p on the horizon, like the one in Alan  
Moore's Watchmen 'B' story.

Duma Key appears to be just a story. No message, no metaphor. Just the  
occassional King slap at GW Bush (King being a good democrat and all).

Overall, I liked it better than the dark tower books I have read or  
listened to, At least in Duma Key I didn't have to learn a new language to
 
interprete the storyline. (Unless you count brain damaged baby talk as a  
new language)
