I'm sure Claire will play dead eventually, and probably is "supposed"
to be dead already, which is why Locke was told it was best not to say
he saw her (still alive).

It's that he faked his death, and Jack knew that perfectly well,
having been part of the plan.
I wrote at least 2 seasons back that they'd be showing us more & more
of the supposed dead walking, but under ambiguous cir***stances such
that there'd always be an out, a loophole, an excuse that would allow
viewers to conclude something other than that they were playing dead
-- but that the excuses would become more strained and difficult as
the series went on. It'll probably be at least season 5 before Mr.
Giacchino works a few strains of "When We Pretend To Be Dead" into the
mood music.
