That is possible, since a lot of Lost is about misdirection.
We have already seen a number of manifestations on the island, whether
done by Smokey or Jacob or the island itself--that part we don't know.
Even Ben as a child saw a manifestation of his mother. So there have
already been examples of a number of people seeing dead relatives on
the island. My guess is that Christian is another manifestation,
created by whatever entity has caused all of the other "ghosts" to
appear to various Losties (and Ben). Probably Jacob is a manifestation
as well, and is really dead, but has been acting as the voice of the
island for Ben.
Something was funny with Claire, but I'm not convinced yet that she is
dead. Christian said that Aaron is where he is supposed to be and he
wasn't supposed to be here--which I assume meant he wasn't supposed to
be in the cabin. But it might mean he isn't even supposed to be on the
island. It might just be that Claire has been convinced that Aaron
needs to be taken off the island, although you'd still think she'd be
more upset about it.
