The fact that Locke seems to be "protected" limits Ben's scope of
action.  He's probably figuring out exactly what he *can* do now ;-)
Apparently, he likes being in charge.  But, as to liking him, until
whatever "goal" is achieved that the Island is aiming for, I think he
will be as dangerous as ever.

Perhaps it's becoming clear that Ben, despite his ruthlessness, is
just as much a pawn as anyone else (maybe more).  (He might have been
*chosen* for that quality, or even trained over his life by being
manipulated in various ways.  Perhaps he's like one of the "The Boys
from Brazil"? ;-))

It's interesting that we've seen plenty of people with motive to kill
Ben, but somehow he survives.  I wonder if he's as "protected" as
Michael.  That bit about the cancer just sounds like the Island using
him in a complicated way (he somehow woke up during the surgery, after
all, and survived, once again!)  I wonder just how much Keamy
knows....
