The earth is one giant rock with peaks and valleys, etc.. The water is
on top of the rock. The formation of the rock into these peaks and
valleys displaces the water and so creates "islands". Plateletts move
and such deep underground, and while I'm no expert on the matter, the
surface of the earth, what we live on, does ****ft, but it doesn't
"disconnect" or can't be detached.

I don't think it possible to physically move the island, or any other
part of the earth the way we think you could move an 'island'.
