All you have proven with your frame by frame breakdown of that scene is
that
the compass had a split-second flicker to 310 which was immediately
corrected by Frank. You forget that Frank was hired because he was a sh--

hot pilot, possibly he even flew Huey's in Vietnam (if he is in mid
fifties), the type of pilot who could autorotate to a safe landing after
an
engine cut-out at 300 ft altitude. I have no doubt that when Frank saw
the
compass needle approaching 310 he immediately jerked the collective over
toward 300 and let the chopper drift back to 305. Net effect: the
deviation to 310 was immediately compensated for and the bird is still on
a
305 heading with respect to its point of departure on the Island. Also,
Lostpedia summaries are not canon, if this issue is so relevant re the
Zodiac staying on a 305 course then Team Darlton should have made a
statement in a Podcast or interview that confirmed the course deviation
after The Constant. That is the only source I'm willing to accept in
certifying that a significant course deviation actually happened. BTW do
you actually think a man steering an outboard watercraft with one hand and

checking a compass with the other on a pitching ocean with currents could
actually navigate more accurately then an aircraft making a straight-in
approach (even with the thunderstorm cell taken into account)???
