You don't consider kidnapping Walt and torching the raft and leaving
Sawyer, Jin and Mikey to die as "playing dirty?"
Considering that we now know that Ben had files on all these people
PRIOR to the kidnapping and torching, most of this nastiness on the
part of Ben was unnecessary. Heck, he was still misrepresenting
Jacob's "will" even up to the end of last season:
