As I mentioned(I beleive) once before, I'm a fan of old time radio.
WAMU FM, the NPR station in Washinton DC,carries the Big Broadcast
every Sunday at 7 until 11 . CJ,if you want to you can catch the
webcast at wamu.org. Nowwwwwwwwwwwwww, I listened to a broadcast in
wich Jack Benny & crew departed for New York City. In real life his
cast did do this every year and it was written into the script. In this
particular episode he had to go down to his vault. Let's just say that
Jackiewackie recycled his lines. In this one he did it word for word
about how the allagator in the moat had furnished him with a wallet and
two belts but was getting supious when he saw Jack approaching him with
either. This same line was repeated in the episode when he needed money
to go to the race track.
In real life Mr. Benny was the soul of gerneroisity but on his show him
in his writers wasn't above milking a line until in turned to cottage
cheese!!!
