Given the nature of MITM, I just always keep thinking it has to be
something
else besides anything we imagine. That's the way it usually goes.

Absolutely right. Nothing can throw all imagination out the window like a
good old pairing of a teen boy and girl. Then everything trickles down to
the usual innuendos, jokes, circumstances, language, and caricatures that
normally get associated with that sort of thing on TV. Seen and heard it
all before, thanks...:(
Malcolm gets a GF in Season 4, and that is exactly what happened in the
episode. It sacrificed imagination for the most part in favor of being
"relevant" to "address the issues" of teen dating. If they make it a
habit
of doing that, it will be just like any other show on television instead
of
enjoying its position as a standout.

Perhaps either Malcolm has joined a film club, is trying to get evidence
that Reese did something he got the blame for instead, or is trying to
acquit Reese of something he was accused of and didn't do.
