On balance I though 4 as good as 2 or 3. Maybe even marginally better.
I did feel the second half of the season was weaker than the first
half, wheras previous seasons I figure they got better toward the end.
But pretty much I felt it balanced out.
What I did think, when some site listed the episodes being sent for
consideration, for Byan Cranston it was something like "Malcolm Holds
His Tongue" and "Day Care", if that was true they were no way
showcasing his best work. I would have said "Stereo Store", and "Clip
Show #2" would have been far better.
"Long Drive," "If Boys Were Girls," "Baby, Part 1" and "Baby, Part 2."
were the shows they initially submitted 'for consideration'. I guess
"Long Drive" is a very strong one for Jane Kaczmarek, and not a bad
showcase for Bryan Cranston , and Ida picked up her nomination for the
"Baby" episodes.
But what happened to "Grandma Sues"? Surely that was a stronger
episode than all of those?
I guess a lot is personal preference, but I don't think the Emmy
voters necessarily had the best the season had to offer presented to
them.
