In Britain these kind are generally referred to as townies or trendies.
Townies are a bit more rough round the edges though. Trendies are born
with a silver spoon in their mouth, and buy their way to power through
mummy or daddy's wallet. Intelligence doesn't figure into the argument.

The goths are a distinct grouping of their own though. I suppose what I
guessed posers to be was those who desperately wanted to be affiliated
with one of these groupings but could just never make it for one reason
or another. As such they're a fickle, desperate and gullible lot,
prepared to do anything to get them recognition or association.

I don't think the word "jock" was actually mentioned in the episode, but
I did spot it in the end credits. I presumed that these "jocks" were the
ones who played basketball.
