I understand what you're saying, but remember also that the show is a
social
parody of sorts. Maybe one of those parodies is that, even though they
are
broke, the Wilkersons can still manage to afford clothes (and Playstation,
and vacations away, and a lot of other niceties) like most Americans -
most
likely by living credit card payment to credit card payment or something
like that. Like I said in another post, I knew essential clothes horses
that didn't have a pot to mess in. But the had clothes, cell phones,
video
games, etc.
