It's reassuring to hear you say this. I'm still watching Season 4 on
Sky One in the UK. We're past the half way point now... Stereo Store
being the latest episode (a very disappointing one at that) and I really
think the show misses having Lois. Being one character down really
excludes a further dimension to the storylines.
Remarkably, I've found myself laughing more at the Francis sub-plots than
anything in this season (Otto and Gretchen are stereotypical but still
inspired). Hal and Dewey storylines are normally good for a laugh... but
the real disaster has been the tediousness of the Malcolm and his
girlfriend shenanigans. It really wasn't that funny when he was trapped
in the loft for days and then finally the floor caved in at just the
moment Hal was in the house.
Alongside season 4, Sky One are also repeating season 2. These episodes
follow season 4 on a Sunday night, and I always enjoy them far more. They
just seem to have a more zany edge to them: more dark humour, fabulous
social commentary and witty observational comedy.
