Actually, you didn't totally make a mistake here. Reese went for his
license/;earner's permit in Season 3, rendering him at least 15.

Do we know in what month...hold on, let me start over:
Dewey know in what month Dewey's birthday falls? ;)
I think that would be key - because if Dewey turned 11 BEFORE Malcolm
turned
15, the continuity would hold. We don't know from the "Flashback"
flashback
whether Malcolm turned 4 before or after Dewey was born.
OTOH, maybe writers changed hands and such microdetails weren't kept up
with, or they just didn't think that a lot of viewers would really catch
on
and they'd get away with it. (Though if that was the case, surely the
"Wilkerson" experiment would prove that wrong...)
I guess you have to think in months and not just whole years, since
mathematically that could make the difference. There is a hint as to when
Dewey's birthday is, but that comes way late in Season 4 and I don't want
to
give too much away for all you who haven't had the privilege of seeing it
yet.

Or maybe Hal/Lois forgot his exact age/birthday when registering him for
school and set it up a year when filling out the forms, something they may
be fixing to reveal in a future episode. ;)
(I don't know of any plans for such a thing but it sounds like something
they would do...)
