a few disconnected season three thoughts

by Thomas Field <coffee@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 6, 2005 at 12:52 PM

"Omerta": I am sticking this episode in the non-canon pile.

"Human Essence": I love the X-Files episode "Kill Switch" - but sticking
it into the background of this episode was a bit distracting.

"Sound of Snow": For lack of a better place to put this, (former Pixie)
Frank Black covers "Dark End of the Street" on his album "Honeycomb".
Along with "Borrowed Time", one of the best season three episodes.

"Seven and One": Mabius - the MG's resident assassin - shows up quite
a bit in the third season. I don't recall him ever being cited by name
during the show. In "Seven and One" - the villain appears to morph into
Mabius at one point.. It is a bit confusing how much of "Seven and One"
is real - certainly by the next episode there doesn't appear to be any
fall out from the investigation into Frank.. Hopefully (unless you are
a Nostradamus fan - where the impending death of Mabus signals bad
things) it's him lying in a pool of blood in Peter's house by the final
episode.

It was a bit sad to watch the short 'making of third season' segment.
Once again, the direction of the second season is severly criticized -
and when it comes from someone like Chris Carter - it is hard to see how
that couldn't sting. In an otherwise well constructed DVD set, the plot
synopsis errors are a bit glaring (Frank discovering Peter's body,
Swan's daughter getting kidnapped).
