No question about it, I agree. I *did* see the show in its original
broadcast, and I never thought the show recovered fully from the loss of
Hill, though it certainly continued to do some great stuff.

The lows on the second series were often lower than ever. But the fact
that
they produced a second act that was any good at all almost violates a
fundamental law of Hollywood, and even entertainment-in-general
