This is the cheaper, duller version of "Prince of Space". Assuming such
a thing is possible. Yet, "...Neptune Men" manages to be even less
interesting because it's hero, if you could call him that, seems almost
like an afterthought.
Tidbits & Whatnots
- Japan's obsession with trans-***ual space beings seems to have it's
origins here. Although I imagine that the original make-up designs for
their 'soldiers' was a little less '***y'. But they probably blew most
of their budget on the colander helmets.
- The skits are of varying quality. The Roman times theme continues on,
with cameos from the MST3K staff (man working there must've been a
blast). The 'Noh' theatre bit was nice if not very funny. And Bill
Corbett turns in a wonderful performance as the visiting Krankor from
'Prince of Space'.
- This is one of the few times that Mike tries to leave the theatre.
Crow takes off as well, leaving tom to do all the riffing. Mike 'n Crow
return shortly as Pearl has cut off the oxygen to the rest of the ****p.
- The stinger is more 'what an odd moment' rather than a summation of
the entire film, like 'Prince of Space'.
Fave Riff:
- "Hey, where's my record?"
Any riffs, Anyone?
