Sampo did a nice job of recounting just why MST3K left the air in a
previous post on this thread. "Farscape" was about the only thing
Hammer (or whatever her name is, the SciFi chief that ran MST3K off the
air) did right.

I know I'm in the minority among sci-fi tv scribes who bathe the new
BSG with endless praise, but I find the writing to be bland most of the
time and terrible the rest. When characters change from week to week
to serve the plot, that's a bad show, period.
I've argued this point in other newsgroups and all I get is; "But it's
soooooo good."
I guess if you never use a tripod to steady a camera, build the set to
resemble a warehouse, light it with a 40 watt bulb, and have your
actors dirty 'n "serious" all the time, you too can get heaps of praise
from the sci-fi faithful.
When "funny" comes back into vogue, perhaps MST3K will as well.
