I know nothing of Xnews, but trimming replies is a function that every
newsreader should have little difficulty managing.

You may want to notice that some of the more voluminous posters dropped
out
around that time. A few others cut way back.

I am not questioning the behavioral consistency. I am questioning your
interpretation of it. Personally, I find the persona and reputation Terry
has created around himself to be rather interesting. That doesn't mean I
believe the propaganda.
