In the fourth-aired episode of that long-running kids' TV show,
"Reading Rainbow", which started in 1983, is a short music video
segment called "Puddle Hopping". It was filmed by Centron, the
educational and industrial film company that gave us an MST3K fans an
unintentional laugh with "Cheating", "Speech: Using Your Voice", and
other social guidance classics. Centron also was the home of "Carnival
of Souls" director Herk Harvey, who worked for Centron 35 years as a
director. And right here, at the end of this quaint little Reading
Rainbow music video filmed by Centron, is Herk Harvey playing an old
policeman with an umbrella who kicks off his shoes and starts dancing
in a muddy puddle with a bunch of kids.
